Festivals in BanjarThe Biggist fair is held in Banjar every year, and popularly known as 'Banjar Fair'. And certain type of folk dance is performed both day and night, which is called 'Seraji Natti', where 12 to 16 people dance in a circular way wearing a traditional attire. This festival is held during the month of May, as a tribute to the deity 'Shringa Rishi'. The idol of the deity is made in the original place, and it is carried to the Banjar, very next day.
How to Reach Banjar
There is no railway station in Banjar Tehsil. Tourists will have to choose the nearest Railway Stations such as Shimla Railway Station, which is 68 kms from Banjar; or Summer Hill Railway Station, which is 68 kms from the tehsil; or the Jutogh Railway Station which is 69 kms from the Banjar town; or the Taradevi Railway station which is 72 kms from Banjar. Among these, you can choose the very nearest station like Shimla; you can also select Summer Railway stations as well.
There is even no particular airport in Banjar. You need to visit nearby airport called Bhuntar Airport, which is just 50 kms from Banjar tehsil. While, Shimla Airport is 67 kms; whereas, Chandigarh and
Gaggal Airport are 132 kms and 140 kms respectively.
