About Banjar
Banjar, is one of the beautiful greenest valleys located 50 kms aways from the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. The city contains 84 Villages and 37 Panchayats. Banjar also surrounds Tehsils like the Seraj Tehsil, Drang, Gohar, Anni, Mandi City, Sundarnagar City, Shimla City, and Hamirpur City which are very close to Banjar.

History of Banjar

Banjar has also a great history as per the epics Ramayana and Mahabharata. It was said that, Rishi (Saint) Shringa had built his Ashram at this location (Banjar Valley). While, it has also mentioned that, Banjar is a holy place, where Lord Rama performed Yagna (offering to the deity of fire) by chanting mantras or vedic hymns. Festivals in Banjar
The Biggist fair is held in Banjar every year, and popularly known as 'Banjar Fair'. And certain type of folk dance is performed both day and night, which is called 'Seraji Natti', where 12 to 16 people dance in a circular way wearing a traditional attire. This festival is held during the month of May, as a tribute to the deity 'Shringa Rishi'. The idol of the deity is made in the original place, and it is carried to the Banjar, very next day.How to Reach Banjar

There is no railway station in Banjar Tehsil. Tourists will have to choose the nearest Railway Stations such as Shimla Railway Station, which is 68 kms from Banjar; or Summer Hill Railway Station, which is 68 kms from the tehsil; or the Jutogh Railway Station which is 69 kms from the Banjar town; or the Taradevi Railway station which is 72 kms from Banjar. Among these, you can choose the very nearest station like Shimla; you can also select Summer Railway stations as well.

There is even no particular airport in Banjar. You need to visit nearby airport called Bhuntar Airport, which is just 50 kms from Banjar tehsil. While, Shimla Airport is 67 kms; whereas, Chandigarh and
